STRAWBERRY FINGER BUNS

I’ve gone again to my childhood with very fond reminiscences of those joyful buns.
My dad and mom would give us 50 cents daily as pocket cash to spend within the college tuck store, my brother Steve and I rapidly labored out that we might purchase at the very least 2 of those infants a day, one for recess and one for our stroll dwelling from college. It didn’t matter that it sat in our faculty bag all squished up, one way or the other it made it even tastier 😋

2 cups plain flour
2 tsp dry yeast
half tsp salt
1/three cup caster sugar
1 tsp oil
2/three cup sultanas non-obligatory
1 cup lukewarm water
half cup sugar
half cup water
1 cup icing sugar
2 tbs mushy butter
1 tbs water warmed
1 tsp strawberry essen
Bun dough: Mix first 4 components in a mixing bowl.
Add water and oil to dry combine and course of till combination is a barely sticky dough that comes away from the bowl.
Knead or combine in a mixer for 5-10 minutes. Dough must be elastic, mushy and effectively mixed.
Add sultanas on the finish and work by dough as a way to stop breakage.
Place in a bowl in a heat place lined with cling wrap and permit to double in dimension.
As soon as dough has doubled, place onto a floured floor and knock again.
Part the dough into 8-10 equal parts and roll into sausage shapes putting on a big tray with roughly 1-2cm in-between every.
Place in heat space lined with tea towel and permit to rise once more.
Cook dinner at 190C for 15-20 minutes checking repeatedly for color.
Bun glaze: Place sugar and water in pan on reasonable warmth.
Stir till dissolved and boil for 1-2 minutes.
Unfold on buns with pastry brush when out of the oven and barely cool.

Icing: Mix all components into mixing bowl and blend till easy, including sufficient water to make a thick frosting.
Ice buns when cool and roll in desired topping.
